Purpose & Object

The Employee’s State Insurance Act, 1948, stands as one of India's most prominent social security legislations. Enacted with a noble purpose, it aims to provide several essential benefits, including medical, sickness, maternity, and employment injury benefits to employees. The administration of this Act falls under the purview of the Employee’s State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), India's premier social security organization.

ESI Applicability

The Employee’s State Insurance Act, 1948, extends its coverage across the entire nation. It applies to all factories/establishments powered by electricity and employing 10 or more individuals.

ESI Eligibility

Employees drawing a salary/wage not exceeding Rs. 21,000/- per month are encompassed by the provisions of the ESI Act.

ESI Benefits

The Act provides various benefits to eligible employees, including

Medical Benefits: Comprehensive medical coverage for employees and their dependents.

Maternity Benefits: Support for expecting and new mothers.

Dependant’s Benefits: Assistance to dependents in case of the employee’s demise.

Sickness Benefits: Financial support during periods of illness.

Rate of ESI Contributions

  • Employer’s Contribution: 3.25% of the wages payable to an employer.
  • Employee’s Contribution: 0.75% of the wages payable to an employee.

Employee’s State Insurance Compliances

1)Obtaining ESI Registration/Coverage for factories or establishments.

2)Obtaining ESI Sub-Code No. for branch offices under their respective jurisdictions.

3)Online Registration of Employees and issuance of TIC (Temporary Identification Certificate).

4)Preparation of ESI Challans & Depositing ESI Contributions on behalf of the establishment.

5)Online availability of Employee Details, Challans, and Correspondence as per your requirements.

6)Online correction of employee details wherever possible.

7)Assistance in the preparation and maintenance of Inspection Book, Accident Book, ESI 32.

8)Assistance in filling and submission of Accident Forms.
